Delve Deeper on Steam
« on: January 09, 2011, 08:24:11 pm »

Just noticed this, but there's an achievement named after the catch phrase of the entire DF game >>
"STRIKE THE EARTH!": create a custom level

They also have one for Minecraft named "Minecrafting":play a custom level

Just thought I'd point it out :3

Saw that on the gamescom convention in Coln. It's a game made by some german game design students who are probly fans of both games.

Don't want to be a jerk, but "strike the earth" really has nothing to do with dwarf fortress. It's just an expression...

Whenever you embark you see "strike the earth."  So it's actually intrinsic to the game.  In fact, you can practically sum up fortress mode in that quote.  However, the earth often strikes back...

I'd buy Delve Deeper, but I just feel it's far too limited.

Everything feels limited compares to Dwarf Fortress.

That's not necessarily a bad thing, sometimes you don't want to play a game with as much complexity as Dwarf Fortress (and sometimes you just want a little graphics fixes).

One of the toads decided to go for a swim in the moat - presumably because he could path through the moat to my dwarves. He is not charging in, just loitering in the moat.

The toad is having a nice relaxing swim.
The goblin mounted on his back, however, is drowning.
