Danger rooms aren't truly dangerous until you get stunned and stop blocking/dodging.

Hmm, my military occasionally takes a nap while in the danger room, and leave the job to their armor and cloak (yes, get these!).

Since I'm too lazy to single out a crap carpenter I just use masterwork training spears. Never had any accidents, whatever the (metal) armor material. Maybe it's the fact that I station them there, instead of filling the barracks with spears.
