Princess Maker-Style Roguelike
« on: January 07, 2011, 12:00:11 am »

I found a Roguelike with an awesome concept. Its basically Princess Maker, except your the princess. Homepage is: http://flend.net/

It is really good so far (an hour into it) made even more impressive by the fact that it was made in only 7 days. Almost makes me wish I could program. I mention it because, Dwarf Fortress aside, its the most creative concept I've ever seen in a roguelike.

I've tried it, and it certainly handles well, aside from the lack of a message buffer and the occasional typos.

Been trying a physical combat oriented princess and found the combat system rather innovative. I've got charge attack, wall vault, vault backstab, and open-ground attack. It's a shame that the magic system didn't have as much attention though.

I'd love for Princess Maker and Monster Rancher like games to be made

Frankly I don't know why they arn't... the math for them are rather easy.
