Please tell me I am not the only one to notice that all humans have long womanly hair? Why the hell is with this?

The actual reason is because they don't manage hair length. Dwarf civs have the following raw tokens in their entry:

   [TISSUE_STYLE:HAIR]
      [TS_PREFERRED_SHAPING:STANDARD_HAIR_SHAPINGS]
   [TISSUE_STYLE:SIDEBURNS]
      [TS_PREFERRED_SHAPING:STANDARD_SIDEBURNS_SHAPINGS]
   [TISSUE_STYLE:MOUSTACHE]
      [TS_MAINTAIN_LENGTH:100:NONE]
      [TS_PREFERRED_SHAPING:STANDARD_MOUSTACHE_SHAPINGS]
   [TISSUE_STYLE:BEARD]
      [TS_MAINTAIN_LENGTH:100:NONE]
      [TS_PREFERRED_SHAPING:STANDARD_BEARD_SHAPINGS]

      
These control preferred hair length and styles. If you wanted short-haired humans, you could add something along the lines of the following to the end of ENTITY:PLAINS:

This should result in short hair, sideburns, beards etc.. Unfortunately, it's impossible to set up various styles at the moment (we can only set minimum and maximum preferred length).

So putting in NEATLY_COMBED, BRAIDED, DOUBLE_BRAIDS, PONY_TAILS, or CLEAN_SHAVEN in place of STANDARD_HAIR_SHAPINGS or whatever doesn't work?

Oh, it does, but that doesn't really help - what I meant was that you can't specify, say, short and neatly combed or long and braided as two styles and have them both at once without there being some random factor involved.

I'm not going to change anything. Let them be themselves. In DF, they'll fit right in with all the other crazy, homocidal adventurers and stuck-up kings that send you on suicide missions.

Anyways there are no barbers yet and the creatures that are inteligent are always randomly generated when talking about facial info , and beahivour and likeings
