Urist cancels Place Item in Tomb: job item misplaced

Spamming, constantly. I had a couple of pet cats and a baby impaled in my danger room, so I built a bunch of coffins and marked them all for burial so I wouldn't have to worry about it later. The cats and the baby have been in the ground for quite some time. Why are they doing this and how can I make them stop?

You should verify they aren't snagged within the traps themselves, I think the only thing to do in that case is to dump the corpse from the building inventory screen.

You should set up a garbage dump next to the room then and have the corpse dumped, then reclaim it. It's stuck in the trap, and perhaps dwarves can't access it for burial purposes in that way.
