Engraved Constructed wall

anyone know what's up with that?

I think someone posted doing this earlier.
I believe the process was designating a smoothed wall to be engraved, then digging it out and replacing it with a constructed wall.

I don't know what kind of consequences this will have for dwarvenkind.

well, I've not designated any engravings in this fort.

I deconstructed and rebuilt the block, the engraving remains.  However the block it's self shows no difrent markings on the looK screen.

moving the bock shows the floor as engraved, which is also odd, as the floor is the top of a block the next level down.
removing the lower block leaves me with engraved open space.  So I'll chalk it up to a bug.  Dang.

I seem to recall that certain randomly generated map features can cause engravings to appear on other levels directly above or below said map feature, even where engravings weren't supposed to appear.  You might be seeing that.

My next project: Engraving everything. Trees, rivers, the air, a metal monument to the elves... This is a revolution in dwarven physics, and I love it.
