Shipping my dwarves?
« on: December 30, 2010, 06:44:34 am »

I frequently try to get my Male Warrior dwarves to "bump beards" with my lady dwarves. Is this something other people do, is it just my sbconcious trying to get me to pass on those warrior genes, is there any way i can do it better?

You can try culling the weaker dwarves.

Take two single dwarves and form a military squad out of them.  Order them to go into a small room and then lock the door.  Don't let them out until they've "sealed the deal".

Since this could take some time, you may need to ensure that the room has adequate provisions.  You'll probably need a bed, a chair, a table, a well, and a barrel-less food stockpile holding a large stack of prepared food.  The furniture is for their psychological wellbeing, and the water is because booze runs out faster than food, so you might as well just have an infinite beverage source, albeit of lower quality.  However, locking two sober dwarves in a room could also be a recipe for disaster.

Toughen Dwarves by dropping stuff on them.  (Nothing too heavy though, and make sure to wear armor.)

If it exists, it can be shipped. Only a matter of time. It's just chance that it happened to you.
