How to strip my dwarves

I am currently playing the newest version of DF, and on the newest fortress (still the original 7 dwarves) I've yet to meet a caravan, which is fine.  But, see, they should be coming soon, and when they do, I want to be ready.  Which brings me to my question:

How can I make my dwarves take off their clothes?

Well, err, maybe that needs more explanation.

See, some of my dwarves are wearing Giant Cave Spider Silk clothes.  And as I understand, that stuff's valuable.  So rather than let them wear it to tatters, I'd rather take it from them, sell it to the next caravan, and give them some leather clothes made from all the warthogs/chimps/bonobos I've killed.  So, that brings me back to my question. X3

drop them 10-15 levels down will force the socks off their cold feet.

1) Install brass vertical bars in a meeting hall.
2) Mass produce GCS silk thongs.
3) Wait for version .19, add a vegetable oil stockpile nearby.
4) Await results.
