take a bronze colossus (that's running behind you) to your fort and get them in (and out!) of the fort. then suicide try to kill him. good luck!

(or post the fort and we'll have a go at it 8))

Take a single naked unskilled dwarf and as many wardogs as you can afford.

No idea if it will work, but should be hilariously gory either way!

In a fat-fingered moment while setting up another military squad I accidentally created a captain of the guard rather than a militia captain.  His squad of near-legendary hammerdwarves equipped with high quality silver hammers then took it upon themselves to dispense justice to all the mandate breakers in the fortress.  It was quite messy.

You're going to need more than your regular share of proficient axedwarves/shield users to take this back. Wishing we could once again reclaim with a grand army of 70 trained militia?

I've heard about that sort of thing, but I've never actually seen it. Whenever I try to reclaim a fort, I only get the usual seven dwarves, even if I select prepare carefully. Is the absence of this a temporary bug, or is it gone forever?
