Skelephant swam UP falling water into plumbing
« on: December 21, 2010, 04:32:20 pm »

I built a "toilet trap" in my fortress' front entrance that flushes enemies into a deep pit, using hatches, a pressure plate, and water poured from 1z above. Usually heavy animals like elephants don't get flushed, and have to be shot off the pressure plate by marksdwarves.

Somehow, a skeletal elephant swam UP into the ceiling plumbing. Hopefully it doesn't break anything before I can evict it.

I use drawbridges to trap enemies in a box made of bridges with no roof, then I activate the floodgates to the water tank and the box fills up with water. If the enemies don't drown or I'm feeling particularly evil I pull another lever that only opens the bridge on the right, the current sweeps anything in the box down a 10 z-level pit where the usually die from the impact, then I pump out the water into a smoothed/fortification carved map border and collect the garbage. So far the kill count for the trap is 5 ambushes, one migrant wave, two sieges and a keeper caravan.
