title sais it all

my ax dwarf and his wardogs killed an iron man, however after the fight was over, nothing remained, no corpse, no statue, not even an iron bar

I didnt get one either, but that was in 33c. havent killed any since

I must've killed around 5 or 6 today in adventure mode (with a battleaxe). About half left statues, the rest left corpses and bits of bodyparts. From the most recent version.

Probably depending on how you kill them you might damage them too badly for them to be counted as a statue.

I know if you cut off the upper body the creature wont leave behind a corpse. With Iron Men this means no statue.

I can confirm that I recently encountered an iron man in fortress mode, and it left a corpse. Either in d or e. Can't remember which.

If you shatter the body (upper/lower) in adventurer mode, it doesn't leave a statue.

*edit* also i think it doesn't leave a statue if you propel it into a wall and the body explodes in gore

IMHO it should always give you a statue but if you "damage" him too much the statue should get X or XX damaged status

he indeed had a red wound on his upper body before he died

It would be awesome if they turned into ironman fragments that you could designate for melting if the body was too damaged to turn into a statue... that should probably go in the suggestions forum.
