Man they annoy me. Sucks when you get kicked in the foot or leg and die in one hit

After lurking in the forums I found out the 2 best fighting style
My character is playing dodger/shield user/(a)x(e)man/wrestler/swimmer/archer.
I kill them with little difficulty.
The only problem is when I am faced with 3 or more of them at a time.
I usually grab their heads with my upper arm and chop them with my axe.
But when faced with multiple of them,I just find a water body and attack them from there

My legendary striker/fighter/wrestler/kicker takes them on without weapons easily.

I find as long as I run and engage them one or two at a time they aren't much of a problem. I usually mangle or dismember limbs, once they're disabled I can run if necissary

I've noticed that wrestling attacks are almost useless, because they can usually break your grabs. The old sword slice-n-dice works wonders though.

I agree wholeheartedly with Pagan. Stabbing them in the lower body is incredibly lethal to them. They keep their self-destruct buttons there, I guess. It's worth going for if the aimed hit will only scratch or whatever, the game often ignore that and just kills mercilessly. Also, keep moving; never let them gang up on you. It's always worth to sleep indoors just to avoid confrontation. I recommend sleeping in caves, when no towns are in vicinity.

Bogeymen:

have rank 9 (Professional _) in wrestling, biting, punching, kicking, fighting, dodging, and observer
can teleport ahead of you if you run away, even if you are sneaking
are the size of a dog or kobold (easy to knock down when charging!)
don't feel pain or fear; don't sleep and like to fight
are amphibious/can't drown/they don't even breathe
they disappear if you go indoors
in general have standard humanoid body parts and are NOT more vulnerable to lower body attacks
do bleed
can be burned or bleed from fat loss
sometimes have horns with tiny contact areas (lethal!!)
no nausea/breathing

Now you will know why you fear the night

Those are the important parts when it comes to fighting them.  Bogeymen do not feel pain or nausea, and do not breathe.  That makes gut attacks, lung attacks, and chipping bones completely useless.  They DO bleed, so it's best to try to kill them with bladed attacks.  They also are very small, so any slashing attack and most stabbing attacks can sever it, which makes it about as good to attack as the head, but with a higher hit rate.  If you can isolate one, knocking it down with a charge and then attacking a leg/foot is a good way to disable it, since it can't chase you and is much worse at dodging.
