Orbiter bay12 mission
« on: January 20, 2011, 07:36:01 am »

I had an idea.

Would anyone be interested in a multi-person mission in a Delta-IV?

It would work like this. There are many parts of missions, such as launch and docking or EVA, we can assume a 'player' does different parts. The game allows for people to be renamed i believe, as such we can use our crew of 3 or 4 to do some mission.

This would require practice by me at least, Orbiter is very complex in some parts. The goal would be simply to survive and complete a mission. At the beginning I'd suggest a Orbital EVA/dock with ISS/landing. Maybe later a moon landing! or further.

Once your part is completed (EVA to recover something or simulated repairs for example.) send the save to the next part of the mission.

Base DGIV or the DGIV-2(Dan Steph) Or my personal favorites, one of the XR Series?

I vote for the XR-2, that baby can ride.

Its basically syncing your periapsis or apoapsis to the ISS and then adjusting the other down so every orbit you get closer to the ISS then once its in visual range conducting a bunch of maneuvers into dock.

Like if your behind the ISS you adjust your periapsis down so every orbit you get closer. Theres also stuff like plane aligning and shit.

I've done it twice and its a very rewarding experience but it takes foorrevvveerrr.

Basically read a guide. I don't remember off hand which ones helped me.

I would play, but I know halfway through I would just ram into whatever docking procedures are going on while acting like a martyr for mother Russia.

I would bet money Andrew has edited things retroactively, except I can't prove anything because it was edited retroactively.
