This may have abuse potential... Is there some way to know what the previous value was?
Or just give glass an initialized value that would make it better than wood, but not make it spoiler sharp.

That's what cages and minecart shotguns are for!  We don't need to control them.  We just need to aim them.

It should have [MAX_EDGE:999999999999]  Glass is sharp.

Whatever the MAX_EDGE for obsidian is could make a good baseline, obsidian is technically volcanic glass after all.

It should probably be just a bit bellow obsidian. Glass can be pretty sharp, but obsidian scalpels are sharper than the best metal razor blades.

Well it depends on the quality of the glass. The better the quality of the glass, the more crystline the structure, and the sharper it goes.

is it just the [max_edge] value?  are there weapon traps that do blunt damage?

While adding magma to anything will make it dwarfy, adding the word "magma" to your post does not necessarily make it funny.

I believe the spiked balls do penetration and blunt damage.

Actually, I think spiked balls do very weak piercing damage. However, since the piercing isn't going to go through armor, it becomes blunt damage or something.

We can't, because glass isn't in the raws yet. Its values are hardcoded.

regardless, the slime shooter will be completed, come hell or high water, which are both entirely plausible setbacks at this point.

How about adding it to the raws with custom reactions and stuff like that?
