Big Pets
« on: December 16, 2010, 05:37:47 pm »

So I caged and tamed (genesis DM) a voracious cave crawler.  Normal drill to release it is build, q, a-unassign it.  But when I do this a dwarf brings an empty cage, transfers the beast and sticks it in a stockpile.

Is it just too heinous to have loose?

edit: oh it was a seiger mount, perhaps thats a factor?

I wish I had something cool to say about this.  Because it's really cool.

If it has a title, then it's an enemy of your dwarves civilization, and will always attempt to attack your dwarves.

Alternatively, It's got the bloodlust.

Siege mounts are always hostile to your dwarves - even if you tame them, they will continue to be "Invader"s in the Unit list.

If you want to breed voracious cave crawlers, then you'll need to capture one from the caverns and tame it.

P.S. If you don't get this note, let me know and I'll write you another.
It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.

Ahh thanks, after writing the first post i popped it with a lever in my barracks and it got gutted.  Even though it appeared as a task for my DM at the Kennels and he turned it to a Stray Crawler I did note that it remained as (Caged Invader) on the units list
