Wagon falls in lava on arrival.
« on: October 30, 2007, 02:57:00 pm »

Like the title says, my wagon fell in the lava the moment i arrived on the site. All animals and 5 dwarves burned as well. Having no pick, axe, wood, stone, food, weapons, the 2 survivors are kinda screwed as well.

The lava was one level down so that could have circumvented the code that should deploy things on the shore.

Awesome game so far and hoping fox a fix in the near future.

I had a similar problem where my dwarves started in the middle of a chasm.  One of my dogs immediately fell to its death, while the survivors on the edge were immediately beset by trogologytes.  OddLy enough, the camera  started in the middle of a fiery cauldren of lava while all this was happening... It seems to just plop your starting position in the exact center of the map no matter if that's a reasonable location or not.

If ignorance is bliss, why are my dwarves all tantruming?

It does quite a bit of reasonableness checking, and I never had this happen in hundreds of placements -- but it seems like something has gone wrong recently.
