I've got some questions about what we can and can't do with memory modding. 

From what I've read about the tools out there, pretty much all the components for a megabeast enhancer exist in one form or another.  It would be a program that, if running beside DF, would notice the presence of a megabeast (or other specified creature) on map and cause various events to happen.

Would anyone be willing to help me find my bearings and figure out what can be done?

Lets you tool around in memory and you can do some fun things.

Beware the DF executable is very dynamic in it's memory allocation, and it will be different every time you reload your region.

Thanks, I'll take a look at that.  I can probably answer some of my own questions with it.  I also found DFHack, Dwarf Therapist, and Runesmith (and the Chasm digger utility).
