Mine does too, but again I just left it alone for 5 minutes and went to the main menu.  *shrug* worth a shot...

You've deleted the META-INF file in the Minecraft.jar, made sure there were no ID issues, checked Modloader's export text file if you've got Modloader, etc? ID conflicts will cause most of your startup crashing.

Yogsbox does all this for you, it's a polished installer with proper id setup and meta-inf deletion and so forth

Lots of people seem to not be understandin' me. What I'm trying to say is that I HAD the Yogbox installed, it isn't anymore due to deletion of the entire .minecraft folder. I thought that maybe the Yogbox uninstaller would fix it (for some reason) and now it freezes on startup. It goes black when I leave it alone for a bit.

Well, now its not freezing on startup. I didn't really do anything, so I don't know what fixed that problem. Still having the original problem, though.

If Force Update doesn't take you back to a working Minecraft, the problem is outside Minecraft.

We're out of ideas, then- yours is an obscure problem. Perhaps instead of bumping your thread numerous times, you could check if the Yogspeople have anything on troubleshooting, or perhaps ask the Minecraft forums?

I've tried the minecraft forums already, and they didn't have any answers. As I've said, its already been buried under the tsunami of 1.8 leak problems.

Also, sorry for the bumps.
