Building a roof over snow makes the snow immortal

I built a room above ground while it was snowing and now I have a permanent ice box. The snow hasn't melted in over five years.

It's odd that the temperature code doesn't pick it up, even if the main removal code works more like rain.  I'll have to see what's wrong.
