Embark to a 2x2 with a cave and a bored megabeast lounging on the surface.  You can probably get five dwarves underground and walled off with a couple barrels of food while the dragon/demon/titan chases the other ones and your stray animals around.  All migrants and traders must also run this gauntlet to reach your fortress, those that fail become the residents of your massive and elaborate catacoombs.
