Adventure mode:wayfarer station

Caravans etc., need a safe place to stay so there should be hastily built little huts here and there for wayfarers to keep them safe from night creatures (mostly)

You should be able to ask where they are from the cities.

It makes sense. After all, the world of DF is a hellhole where monsters can and do slaughter you if you walk in the night.

Kind of reminds me of the Painted Man saga, really...

Trying to hop from town to town before nightfall can be difficult sometimes...

But I've discovered that as long as I always play a crossbowdwarf or axedwarf, bogeymen will go down like a sack of shit.

I agree with Urist. Steampunk is like Darth Vader winning Holland's Next Top Model. It would be awesome but not something I'd like in this game.
Unfortunately dying involves the amputation of the entire body from the dwarf.

I assume a "caravan" in Dwarf Fortress refers to a group of people traveling together for convenience/safety, and not "Dodge Caravans". Thus by definition no, they do not need a safe place to stay. The caravan itself is its own safe bogeyman-resistance place.

Though come to think of it Dodge Caravans would probably work too. Especially a caravan of Caravans.

My mistake, he does, indeed, have a very valid point. Caravans are always made up of more than one person, so they are, by virtue of being a group, immune to bogeymen.

No, I was talking about the cars.

Actually, it makes sense that a caravan can stop at night, light a fire or whatever it is that houses do to keep safe, and continue on in the morning.
