Strange behavior with cave-ins and destruction in the arena.
« on: November 19, 2010, 10:47:47 pm »

Well, after creating my ULTRA SUMO WRESTLER BATTLE ON A NEEDLE ABOVE LAVA WAR, I started caving things in for fun. The first thing I did was cave-in the walkway on the north-east corner of the map. I dropped 1x3 chunks of obsidian on both ends of it, forcing it to fall down. It generated several dozen different kinds of "dust", such as:

And after the ungodly lagfest that was*, I looked at the "blocks" left over from the crash-down of the walkway:

All the "rock" blocks left over were like this. Thought i'd share this with you nice people.

*Seriously, I was getting 1 fps for about a minute or two.

This might because the material values for arena stone is not initialized, leading to it reverting to random materials or the base "rock" after becoming dislodged.

Rock defaults to "rock" and the dust is of every defined stone/soil/gem type.
