Stupid Space Over Startbar

I logged onto my computer and i saw this on my desktop while having my window maximized. I have windows 7, im not sure what to call this problem or feature. How can i remove this space?

Oh nevermind i found out how to fix it, i just restarted my computer and it worked, it would be great if someone could delete this thread.

Knowing a cause for it still might be a good thing, in case it happens again.

It looks to me like you expanded the Taskbar, but (on Vista at least) when you do that, the Start button sits in the middle of its height.

I've had things like that before caused when a program that changes your resolution is minimised/ends unexpectedly. Normally, un-maximizing and re-maximizing the window (the one that isn't meeting the taskbar) fixes it.
