Magma flooded caverns?
« on: November 20, 2010, 01:08:02 am »

I finally got around to digging down into the caverns in my custom world. I mostly left the cavern settings alone, except to make them deeper and more spread out, but I'm sure I left it at 3. After much digging, I broke through into the second cavern, based on the trees (I'm still looking for the first one). The second cavern has a tunnel leading down, but when I explored it, it goes straight to the magma sea. Is the third cavern flooded perhaps? There are zero nethercaps and blood thorns on this level, which is why I think its #2. Is the total depth fixed, or dependant on the distance between the caverns? Is it possible I added so much space between the surface / first cavern / second cavern / third cavern that the third one got pushed down into the magma sea?

Who knows, keep digging :D

Magma can well up to any cavern level, that's possibly what you've found.. a magma tube.
