I plan in my current fortress to build a giant miasma chimney pumping out, you guessed it miasma to deter smelly elves when they glance upon my industrial castle masterpeice only problem is dwarves taking tons of waste all into one room full of tons of waste is going to make them very unhappy just getting a whiff of the miasma is there any tag I can apply to the dwarves to hopefully fix this problem? I.E making them like miasma? Thank you

I can't help you with the modding, but when you build the miasma dispenser please post the schematics for it.

You could always just engrave the dining room to cancel it out.

While their hate of miasma is hardcoded, simply having 2-3 doors in a row on the room can cut down on the amount of bad thoughts by making sure that the only dwarves actually exposed to the miasma are the ones that are doing the dumping. Other then that the best you can do is to make sure that they have lots of happy thoughts (i.e. make a 31x31 dining room and fill it with good furniture, give them all individual bedrooms, make good quality meals, create a mist generator, etc.)

Instead of miasma I just use smoke, and make a long spiral staircase for those elves to go down, and then back up on the opposite corner while trying to get to my depot. 

You could experiment with using minecarts filled with nasty bits and 'shotgun' them inside. I believe if you were to do it correctly you'd only have to worry about the dwarf bringing back the minecart getting a short whiff, unless theres some sort of auto-retrieval system someones figured out by now.

Miasma can't go diagonally, but dwarves will dump things into pits diagonally, so a setup like this:

X is a wall

ah, beaten to it. No need for mods.
If I studied the science correctly, miasma clouds won't flow out diagonally between walls, so this should work pretty well. could also try this to maximise the number of corners on the chimney for a higher dumping capacity:

might also consider an extravagant second z-level above it for additional dumping if you have a heavy load of goblins to miasma-fy (producing a sort of pyramid base of the chimney).
