Sounds like real economy
« on: December 11, 2010, 02:18:25 am »

Quote from current development page:
"...since trade imbalances and over-production that grind the whole system to a halt are fairly easy to come by."

This sound like real economy, if we look back to history we see human societies trying all kinds of economical/social and political experiments which often lead to catastrophes, wars, tantrum spirals civil wars, poverty and starvation.

I'm looking forward to be able to have printing machine and print endless amounts of paper money, and then buy everything with them  :D, value of printed money should be somehow related to fortress wealth, and if you make too much your trade partners will figure out that papers they get from you are almost worthless, and then siege you, just like in real world  8)

Maybe i should mod money making building named FED and designate it to be used by dwarf named Ben Bernanke who would then make money all days long.
Then no one should not need to work because everything could just be traded with money, of course when enough migrants arrive and economy kicks in only Ben and nobles can afford to live in rooms and have expensive food and luxury resources.
It also becomes important to have strong military to keep unemployed common people in line.

What I want to do is burn down the farms of the humans in adventure mode. Then, I can stop this adventure and play dwarf mode for a while. I will grow a lot of food. Next, I will abandon after two years and start a new adventurer. He will be the hero of the town!

I'll sell lots and lots of high quality steel items to caravans, to the extent of giving it away, then go into adventure mode.

Just hope goblins don't get there hands on them too...
