Anyone else trying to run DF on Windows Vista RC1? I'm getting the 'Main Index File Missing/Corrupted' error no matter what I try. The files are in the proper directories (same as my XP machine). I've tried to run the various compatibility modes and have navigated directly to the .exe file as was mentioned in previous posts. Any thoughts?

Ok, after much poking around I got it to work by changing the folder properties from the default 'read only' (by right-clicking where the game is installed). I guess Vista really means it when things are set to 'read only'.

Odd...  I guess we'll have to keep track of how Vista's going to handle this.  At least it seems to run otherwise maybe.

it runs really slow on my vista laptop, i only get 7-10 frames per second, but it works perfectly normal when i play it on my xp desktop.

Say, Vugor... Did you happen to find Dwarf Fortress by reading a review of Yahoo by any chance?
