My second adventurer got assigned to kill the same bandit leader that killed my first adventurer, which the quest giver mentioned by name as a victim! Neat. This time, I hired a blinky swordsman to kill her for me, which worked. Then recruited two more soldiers to kill a second bandit leader. They did, plus a night spouse, without problems.

Found a shop, sold some GCS loot. But there didn't seem to be any new money in my inventory. Maybe it's in that chest? Ooh, coins! Argh, no, those weren't mine--I've become a criminal for taking them, even thought the trade screen said I bought out the shop's money supply and was "owed" a bunch above and beyond that. Wander to next town, but word spreads too fast: I'm already considered a criminal here. Can't get quests or turn them in since no one will talk to me, so my questing days seem over; attack a random shopkeeper for spite.

As I thrust my spear at the shopkeeper's hand (easiest target for some reason), first my axeman companion, then my swordsman companion, leap forward and announce themselves as the mighty slayers of their respective bandit leaders (yes I know guys, I saw you do it), and advise me to prepare for death! A crime too far for them, apparently. Now they're slashing and chopping, and bits of me are flying around the shop. This is probably going to be my all-time most enjoyable video game death ever.

I hope I can find and recruit these guys again with my third adventurer.

EDIT: Third adventurer fell to a night spouse, with mere hammermen at her side. Fourth adventurer sought the shop where the second died. The companions are indeed still there, but rather than being recruitable, they're hostile, and advise adventurer #4 to prepare for the type of death that they brought to adventurer #2! Talk about holding a grudge!

Congratulations, you managed to so disillusion them that they now kill all questing heroes.

There are many issues with this statement.

Tonight I created a SuperElf capable of massacring an entire fortress of humans with ease, while torturing their nobles. By the time I was done some of my weapon skills I started with no experience in had gone up whole levels.

Call me crazy, but I thought there would be a certain irony to having an Elf run around slaying all of the humans.

In adventure mode I killed a Hydra within fifteen minutes, and then was mortally wounded by Carp while swimming in a river.

Made a kicker character, human hero. First quest was to kill a bandit pikeman.
Once I arrived at the camp and got spotted, I ran behind a tree and hid. When the enemy came looking for me, he got a kick to the head, instantly killing him.

Fought a bandit queen axemaster. Lost all use of my left leg , and I lost the sensory nerves in the other before I caught her in a sleeper hold and lopped her face off.
Currently up to Adequate Crutch-walker. Gonna go after a minotaur once I reach legendary and kick it in the face with my good leg.

After 4 rather disastrous attempts my hero dwarf named Malho the V finally managed to kill an outlaw by throwing the large copper dagger straight to his head. After this lucky shot I could recruit some canon fodder henchman and start solving the harder quests.

One of the earlier Malho's even survived a bogeyman ambush, only to die encapsulated in ice...

I never got another lethal shot to the head again, even though I tried... And when he killed the first outlaw he was only a novice thrower that exhausted all the rocks he had gathered so he turned to the last thing throwable on the backpack with the enemy 4 tiles away, the blessed large copper dagger  :)

The aimed attacks open up so many possibilities...
After a couple of less-than-successful adventures finding out why I'm now afraid of the night, I decided to hunt down a mean ol' bandito archer. Her lackeys bum-rushed me and fled after the first blows, I gave chase but soon grew weary of their cowardice (they found out how hard it is to run with no feet). With her meat shields gone, the once fierce bowman remained standing- with one last arrow notched and obviously outmatched. I close the distance between us, and within striking range she lets out her final, desperate shot. The fated barb pierced my attacking hand, staying my slash that would free her wretched soul from her weak flesh. A purely accidental weather check gave dramatic pause... the sky is clear above you... the sun is high in the western sky... a cool breeze is blowing from the west... she hardly had time to notice my shield's direct path for her face. With shattered skull and shattered hope another bash from my gleaming aegis knocked her prone, allowing me time to spit a, "Ya dun goofed!" before taking the arrow from my wound and driving into her impetuous skull. After some eye plucking, appendage biting, and various pokings, a swift jab dispatched her with ease. A rewarding kill with a tiny, curving scar as a trophy :D

After a few adventures getting the hang of the new system, i found out you can target guts when they are exposed, so when ever an enemy fell unconscious(easiest strikes) or the opportunity arised, i would proceed to slice their lower body till the guts spilled(if they hadn't been spilled already) then proceeded to chop the guts out and then then kill people with them!

Did you know that if you write 3.14 on a piece of paper and hold it in a mirror, it will say pie? And if you divide 42 by 3.14... you get 13.37!

It is incredibly satisfying to kill a man with a butterfly.

My adventurer is now faster on her crutch than she was when she had two legs. :/

I'm now wondering whether a healthy adventurer can use a crutch and create some kind of tripedal motion.

Anyway, you don't become a legendary crutch walker for nothing :P.

How do you get to use the crutch? Simply hold it in your hand?

Yeah, that seems to do the trick.

Also, I can apparently hold a shield and a crutch in the same hand with no penalty.
