How do I de-equip items ?

I can't drop them if I'm wearing them. D:

This doesn't seem to give me the option to remove weapons. So I have to drop them and pick them up in order, or put them in my backpack and remove them in order.

[R]emove and [P]ut in container are used together: You can [P]ut your weapon in your backpack to un-wield it, or you can [R]emove it from there to wield it.

Don't drop your weapons... Mine tend to mysteriously disappear when I drop 'em, just what I don't need, when I drop my sword to switch to the other hand when one arm gets broken, and BAM! It vanishes.
