So I embarked on a a volcano/magma pool, I was checking how far down it went when I started getting messages that a puppy got struck down, so I zoom to the location and the wagon and everyone was on fire.

Any one know why this happened?

maybe a fire imp or one of those fire vermin like the snake fire has come close and started a fire, the imp by attacking with a fireball or the snake by simply being there.

I reclaimed the fort and another fire started, I was able to get evoryone out this time. Also no fire imps or snakes on the unit screen. but I think they had fire snake meat. Also their humans and evry thing works fine. Including magma.

fire snakes are not seen on the unit listing, being vermin (I think)

.... I expect it says that on the wagon. In that case you have (deliberately?) bought fire snakes as pets and brought with you.

If that is right, then it opens up for so much Fun. I can't wait to get home and experiment with Funny pets bought on the embark.  Thank you for sharing the idea.
