Region Alignments?
« on: November 10, 2010, 04:03:29 pm »

I thought that I read somewhere that the evil alignments (sinister, haunted, terrifying) spread out over the course of time and that you could affect it's ability to spread. Now I am unable to find this mystical interweb document again so I cannot show you.

My question is: Can alignments of regions spread and change over time and can players affect them?

Oh, and as an aside because I don't feel like creating another topic. Once you've embarked and been playing a fortress for 12 years and you notice that there's no human civ is it possible to add one in? or do I just need to regen a world?

No spreading.

You will have to regen.

You would be better served in the questions forum.

To answer your second question: Yes if a civ is not present you need to regen if you want that civ. I would suggest you utilize legends mod in the future to make sure all the races are alive.

It's possible that a human civ exists in that world and they just can't reach your fort (the "civilizations" menu in Dwarf Mode only shows civs that have visited your fort). Try looking at different spots to embark, you might not need to regen a world.

regardless, the slime shooter will be completed, come hell or high water, which are both entirely plausible setbacks at this point.

Ah, that is good to know. Thank you. As I went and supersized my world with only 5 years of history there's a good chance I have humans.
