What in the world is this?
« on: November 04, 2010, 05:28:33 pm »

I made a new embark on a new map (1050 years history, v-low savagery, v-low beasts, v-high civilizations and sites, pocket size, second age of twilight) to test a few things for myself regarding bedrooms and barracks and I found this wonderful treasure trove:

I looked over some of the stuff and it appears to be a kobold hoard(I found a kobold and a kobold baby). There as also a tunnel beneath that extends down several levels with more stuff and a mound with even more stuff above it. Is this what I think it is? If I kill off the kobolds, can I just take all the stuff?

EDIT: I just killed the kobolds and my dwarves are hauling all the loot back to my fledgling fortress. The tunnel underneath is far deeper than I expected.

You appear to have come apon a kobold camp. It's likely they will act like goblins and not attack until a hostile kobold shows up.

As it turns out, the pen was in fact a poor choice for melee combat in comparison to the sword.
So I just started playing this game and I accidentally nuked the moon.

I just went in and killed all their children and made them watch, they didn't seem to mind. When I checked back later, there were reinforcements, but they appeared as "friendly" and didn't attack me as I continued to murder their babies and take their stuff.

Also, their trove continues on below -74, I wonder now if I could use it to get dangerously close to HFS.

I will now have to remove some tags from kobolds.

I just want to be able to say "I ate kobolds' babies!"

TBH, I think that all dwarf fortress problem solving falls either on the "Rube Goldberg" method, or the "pharaonic" one.
{Unicorns} produce more bones if the werewolf rips them apart before they die.

This happened to me once, but with a kleptomaniac ettin instead of kobolds.

...Ettins are not dwarf-friendly creatures.
