Pets' amputated limbs don't get moved until death
« on: January 24, 2008, 09:07:00 pm »

I had my siege operators's pet cow walk in front of the ballista at an inopportune time.  Luckily, the arrow was wood, low-quality, and the siege operator was a novice, so all this did was cut off the cow's front right hoof.

There are lots of coffins available, and refuse stockpiles.  But no one would pick up the hoof.  I'm betting it's because the cow was a pet, so its parts are not refuse; and alive, so it doesn't get a tomb yet.

Embarrassingly, the cow did it again later on, at the other ballista; this time, my siege operator was well-trained and the blow killed her.  With the cow dead, the hoof (now just a bone) was up for grabs.  A peasant immediately rushed forth to pick it up.  And thus found himself right in front of a training ballista...

It would normally go into a graveyard stockpile, and I assume you don't have one.

Huh; there's such a thing as a graveyard stockpile?

It's [y] in the stock[p]ile menu. I generally use them before I get coffins set up, but it's good to have one somewhere in case either a limb gets removed or you run out of coffins.
