Where's the shops?

I recently downloaded dwarf fortress 0.31.16. I have played on two worlds and haven't been able to find any shops. Is this common? Where am I supposed to find them? There where lots of them in the previous versions.

cities are broken.
that means no shops.
next release,however,has them.And much,much more.
it will be released this,or next week,im not sure when..

Yeah, signs point to a really epic release by this weekend. Until then, if you want to play adventure mode to the fullest current extent you might want to stick to 31.12.
