Named weapons?
« on: November 04, 2010, 12:46:55 pm »

Just a qq, I keep hearing (well, reading) talk of named weapons, I've never had this happen, how does one go about getting a weapon named?

Military dwarves will name their equipment after a certain number of kills/years using it.
The chances of a weapon being named likely has to do with a dwarfs personality.

It only happens in fortress mode; you'd have to play until you had a named weapon and then track down that dwarf and take it from him in order to get one in adventure mode.

Using training spear spiketraps on your recruits seems to significantely increase the chances of weapons being names. I have a bunch of fairly new soldiers that named their weapon that just killed a bunch of crundles and a monkey, and even one with no kills at all.
