Ah... the atomsmasher. But atomsmashers only destroy things that aren't on their edges, so they wouldn't completely clear your ballast rooms and you would have less control because the rooms would have to be bigger to accommodate a bridge instead of a single pump.

I agree with Urist. Steampunk is like Darth Vader winning Holland's Next Top Model. It would be awesome but not something I'd like in this game.
Unfortunately dying involves the amputation of the entire body from the dwarf.

I wonder if I should start another thread expanding on this object-designation system, making provisions to discuss things other than buoyancy such as cave-ins, structural integrity, vehicles other than boats, movable walls/large gates or something... I dunno.  I'd also really like to ask toady about how the game actually calculates cave-ins right now...
