I once met an elven child that took over five hundred lashes from a legendary lasher with a steel whip before dying.  Did I mention that the lasher was a modded Bronze Colossus with the ability to learn?  And that the child was on fire the whole time?  And there were three dwarven lashers working on him as well?  Had I known he'd be so tough, I'd have recruited him into the party as monster bait.

And a thought occurs: if you made soap out of those poison demon squirrels, wouldn't it dissolve your flesh when used?  I THINK WE HAVE OUR NEXT EXPORT TO THE ELVEN KINGDOMS, GENTLEMEN!!!

I don't think children will join you. If they would, that would be some good bait.

I'm not sure, but if they're prisoners they will.

Unless elf children cannot be prisoners...

All I ever think if I encounter seemingly immortal foes is strangling their throat. Of course it's not the same with creatures that don't even understand 'pain' (sa, bronze colossus).

I have found that stabbing weapons are the only reliable method to kill things.

True, I one-hitted a dragon with my warhammer but I can't take down bronze colossi with it.

I got a giant to all-red, and it still didn't die.

It kept passing out and anouncing itself. So far, this has happened twice in the same cave. I wonder if Minotaurs are as resiliant...

For some reason, spears are kind of bad at killing things quickly, unless you get their heart or brain.

In response to the OP-

I typed in tgm.

You win points if you know where that's from. (HINT. It's an RPG.)

It's so much easier to make yourself essential. That prevents you from being cheap.
TCL if you want to breach caverns early.

What version are you playing?

I've had no problems with the current one, but it's been modded with the Community Weapons Rebalance mod. (Plus a few minor tweaks to dwarf stats...)  If this is what the current vanilla version is like, then I'd say it actually works!!!

(PS: an unmodded whip does about as much damage as training weapons do, even steel ones.)

Dwarven economics are still in the experimental stages. The humans have told them that they need to throw a lot of money around to get things going, but every time the dwarves try all they just end up with a bunch of coins lying all over the place.
