stuck migrants

I'm in an area where 4 rivers intersect. So I am working on a system of bridges. Some migrants arived in an area where I haven't made a bridge yet (working on it). Is there any way around this for future reference?

I also play on the longest history setting for hard mode.

Dig a tunnel under the river, then put a hatch over it to keep nasty things away.

I meant other than building or doing any sort of construction. Like some thing that alters where the migrants arive from?

Not that I know of.
Building a road may encourage people to spawn there, but this is unlikely.

lame. seems kind of a gyp if you ask me. My migrants died....and the bridge was finished about 3 minutes after they died.

Well you'd be the one doing the gypping - next time make your bridges a little quicker!

often the spot migrants spawn at is random, however if you are on a map with rivers intersecting then its likely they will always appear in that spot.  It may well be the only map edge your home civ has access to

Keep in mind the same applies to traders and siegers.
