Gerhardt looked up and down the three recruits, shaking his head at each in turn.

' I guess you'll have to do. Give me your names and pick up those guns.' he finally said, pointing at the Mars-pattern lasguns. This assignment sounded like it should've been given to more experienced personnel, but he was not planning on letting the Magus down.

Take the Skitarii-recruits and give them the Mars-pattern lasguns

I begin the fit-a-chimera-with-a-laser ritual, carefully mounting the laser and making sure to properly respect the machine spirit.

The Magos you with your equipment and you instantly begin to modify them to your needs. While Gerhardt was quite fast done and the Skitarii completely equipped, Mattheo began to open up the hull of the robots to get to the cranial Nodes. Although he has difficulties with the quite complex brains he manages to set up a command link between the Cranial Comm Node and the Robots. What he however didn't expect are the strong feedbacks from the two robots. He can feel their doglike behaviour and as soon as he activates them one starts to run around in circles  while the other one sits in front of him and emits a sound that is suspiciously similiar to the panting of a dog. He tries to give orders to the two robots but their personalities and standard programming are so strong that they flood his mind.

Meanwhile Joseph starts the Ritual of Refitting and mounts the Multilaser on the Chimera. After having finished this he enters it and wires his cortex with the machine spirit. Or so he tried, if there was any machine spirit on the Chimera. Without it he will have to control the whole machine completely himself and do all calibrations, a task that will make things even more complicated. Lacking any other tools he connects himself with the Chimera and emulates a machine spirit with his own being.

Finally after two hours of preparations the group is ready to go. The propable coordinates of the Heretic are saved within the Chimeras logs, which Joseph quickly quickly goes through. Apparently The Traitor has barriaced himself in a small canyon. Now you must decide how you organize your group of ransport...

Mattheo was rather shocked to find that what was inside the robots was a shoddily overwritten... DOG BRAIN? However, there were more pressing matters at hand; namely, they still had to actually get to the heretic. The Chimera should be able to carry them all a considerable distance. If absolutely necessary the robots could walk alongside, but the Skitarii as well as his fellow tech-adapts and himself should be kept as fit as possible.

Try fitting the Robots into the chimera if possible (after the Skitarii are in, ofcourse.) once they are in, I will reprogram the robots to first follow my commands, then follow whatever commands are in their standard programming after that, except where that would conflict with my commands. And fix the dog behaviour... Whoever programmed them this badly should get on their knees and pray for forgiveness to the Omnissiah!

If they do not fit, they will run along with the chimera. I will still attempt to fix them to be useful. (possibly having them run directly behind the chimera with the loading ramp down?)

Gerhardt guided the recruits aboard the Chimera, following quickly behind. He was already thinking about this Heretic and how they would take him down; if this barricade was strong, a frontal assault would be suicide. If there was an alternative route of some kind, though, he and the Skitarii could serve as a distraction while Mattheo's Crusaders took the madman down. He would see when they got there.

Gerhardt began calming his mind with the litanies and rituals he had learnt in training and repeated the little prayers he had always mouthed before the big fights back home. He needed his mind to be sharp if they went into combat.

Get myself and the Skitarii recruits get onboard the Chimera

I wait for everyone to get in, then drive towards the canyon.

You all climb into the chimera and the Skitarii and Gerhardt take the lasgunpositions. With an Roar the CHimera awakens and drives out of the Hangar. After nearly half an hour of uneventful driving you finally enter the canyon. Joseph slows the vehicle down and you all keep an look-out for anything suspicious. It is completely silent in the canyon except for the one or another small landslide of stones. You think you hear movement but your not sure. One of the Skitarii suddenly cries out.

ON THE RIGHT! There was something...

Gerhardt walks over and looks closer but sees nothing. Propably just one of the natural animals of Mars.  The next second you all hear a low zzap and suddenly the right side of the Chimera explodes...paralyzed you look at the remains of one of the lasguns and a skitarii, his half body splattered about the internal rooms of the Chimera. Joseph doesnt seem to be taken aback at all...he quickly ventures through the damage reports...

Minor Damages at the Right Side...one lasgun-entrenchment destroyed other wise no damages...

Before any of you can answer hell breaks lose as you hear the zzaps of more lasercannons...

' Down! Get down! Find cover!' Gerhardt roared, sliding into relative safety behind the Chimera. He cursed his luck; he only had had three Skitarii, and could not afford to lose any more of them. ' Return fire! Find out where those lascannons are! Mattheo, take your Crusaders and flank them, wherever they are!'

Try to get the Skitarii to cover and to return fire
Try not to get killed

Try to salvage the lasgun from the fallen Skitarius and order the robots to curve around and flank the area the lascannon zaps are coming from, one of them carrying me. (assuming they're a good bit faster than I am)

Instantly everyone except for Joesph and Mattheo leaves the Chimera. He quickly scans the area for the ambushers but they are too well hidden and he rerains to fire into the general direction of the attackers. Most of the hots go astray or hit the boulders at hte edge of the cliff but onehits something behind them and Joseph registers a metallic clonk. Meanwhile Gerhardts Skitarii have taken cover behind the Chimera and look for the ambushers. Luckily the shot of the Chimera forced one of the enemies to move, apparently also an Crusader robot. The Skitarii hastily open fire on the exposed frame of the robot and one shot even hits an important hydraulic cable, disabling one of the sword arms. Mattheo quickly establishes a comm link between him and his two Cusaders and programs his orders into them. Through the robotic visuals he can see directly through the eyes of one and soon sees the three enemy Crusader robots perched on the cliff. They haven't seen them up to now and are busy recharging and firing their cannons. One shot hits the Chimera but barely shakes it through disturbing the comm link between Mattheo and his Crusaders...

((Guess that's no action for me this turn then?))
Try to regain the link, and have the Crusaders use their dual swords to sneak up on the enemies and cut as many vulnerable hydraulics parts as they can

Have the Skitarii provide covering fire/distract the enemy while our Crusaders kill them off
