Pressure Plate Logic: How Heavy is Water?
« on: October 22, 2010, 01:11:10 am »

Let's say I set up a pressure plate in the middle of a water room that opens a floodgate when the water on the plate is up to [5/7]

I am just working on a loose idea, but can I do this and what is the proper weight setting?

Isn't there a menu to set what weights and things set it off when you build a pressure plate? I've never actually used them for lack of need but I think that's the way it works.

like Fanklok, i haven't used them, but posts I've seen say you can set the plate to trigger on n/7 water (or magma) ...

OK, that's handy.
The creature triggers use a sort of "weight number" so I was worried that I would need to know how much water weighed, but just using n/7 is easy.

Yup.

In theory I think you can actually have three different settings that don't link up at all (like 1/7 to 3/7 water and 6/7 to 7/7 magma triggers it, as well as some weight setting) but I've never tried it.

When a pressure plate deals with liquids, i think it's like the float you find in a toilet.
