New to Modding and Custom Workshops
« on: October 16, 2010, 01:10:15 pm »

Hi, I just recently started seriously modding DF, but have been tinkering back and forth with the Raws for several months now.
I decided to try and see if I could make a custom workshop, and sort of slapped a small test one together named desk.

However, as far as I can tell something strange is happening. I've successfully migrated in my desk, however the single reaction I've written out for it fails to show. I haven't the slightest clue why.
The raws I've written are:

building_desk.txt
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

reaction_desk.txt
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Added to entity_default.txt
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I've done my homework, flipped through Shaostoul's guide (both), done several world regens (upwards of 8 now I think; 5 of them on 31.12, 3 of them on 31.16), and wandered around scratching my head for a bit.
I also migrated in Shaostoul's cheat-training booths available on the wiki for comparison. Everything worked perfectly.
I'm sure we differ somewhere, but I haven't the slightest clue where. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Lacking a reagent, methinks.
Try using a stone or something.

Try throwing a reagent in there just to see if it shows up.  I'm not terribly experienced with training reactions like that, so I don't know if that would be the problem.

Hah.  'there has been 1 reply since you started replying'.  CURSE YOU, GAXKANG.

Unfortunately, I've already been cursed. You've never seen a badass lich in human form, have you?

No go. Adding a reagent did nothing.
Though I may have added the reagent incorrectly:

[REAGENT:A:1:STONE:NONE:NONE:NONE]

Also, I'm not sure what a lack of a reagant should do considering that Shaostoul's Training Reactions have no reagant either.

It should be BOULDER, not STONE.

Ok made the change.

[REAGENT:A:1:BOULDER:NONE:NONE:NONE]

Still a no go. The reaction refuses to show.

Random guess, where is says [BUILDING:DESK:NONE], add a keybinding like [BUILDING:DESK:CUSTOM_M], see if that does anything.

Yeah...definitely still a no go.

Still not seeing where I messed up either.
