I've downloaded the latest version at least three times, so I don't think that's an accurate statistic.

At least you can use the number of downloads as a rough upper limit on players - I doubt too many people are giving the game files to other people as opposed to telling them to visit the website.

I don't tend to download the latest versions very much, because I still have fortresses in the old versions, and I am quite happy with some of the bugs features.

More or less, whenever I slowly start to think about going to the newer versions, Toady will release the next one about one or two days later.

Lets see what sensible things we can work out.
DFFD has almost 2000 users.
Same for the map archive.

This website currently has 20006 total members.


Most download sources outside the bay12 site have about 600 downloads per version.
Not everyone is going to stick with it.
I'd go for a couple of thousand of the hardcore and up to ten times more in total.


Donations are in the newsposts?
