OH MY GOD
WHAT IF SONGS COULD BE READ LIKE HOW YOU LOOK AT ENGRAVINGS!
OMG OMG OMG OMG!
IMAGINE ALL THE POSSIBILITIES!

"This song is an image of circles."

Or something like that, but yes, songs of epic battles of Bronze collosi crushing dwarves.
There were threats of random poetry made before so I doubt it's out of the question. There are rhyming dictionaries available to use in programs, etc. I'd love to see some of the silly covers that would come out of the more musical members of the forums as a result.

And now I'm imagining the songs that would have been sung in boatmurdered

They wouldn't have been able to sing anything for all the blood.
That could fit:

Therapist.
:o

Hmmm sounds like an....interesting idea.....  :-\ Maybe as a type of "fell mood?"
...And maybe, in addition to "therapist" be can aslo add in a person for your dwarves to talk to about their feelings when they're depressed ;D

That's the point, it wouldn't be as fun to crush their souls if they didn't have souls to begin with.

We need a new ethic tag to determine on a cullture by culture basis whether massages are expected to have "Happy Endings"

LOL! I was going to say Dwarven Prostitutes would almost be a must given all the hard work that goes on in the fortress. I guess the pretense of a "massage" works, though  ;)

They're not hookers!! They're...massage therapists...

As I said previously, that is to be determined by each indicidual race's entity tag, vis a vis whether their ethics are set to [ETHIC:HAPPY_ENDING:ACCEPTABLE], [ETHIC:HAPPY_ENDING:UNTHINKABLE], or [ETHIC:HAPPY_ENDING:ONLY_IF_SANCTIONED]

I'm not sure professional masseuses really fit the time period, though you could sell me on something akin to Turkish baths, but I definitely like the idea of bards or strolling players.
Hahaha -- the oldest profession in the history of man, I'm sure there are dwarf massage therapists with a full range of services.

Hooray for Happy Endings!
