no ambush or siege in 10 years

hey everyone ive got a question about the new DF version. Ive searched the forums but i cant find anyone else who is having this problem. Ive played 2 different fortresses in till about 10 years, and ive never been attacked by anyone. theres goblins in the world, very close to my second fortress, and ive tried attacking elf and human caravans and diplomats, and i NEVER get attacked by anyone. i never even have kobolds show up. Is this a bug that anyone else has had?

You are playing .12 or .16, right?

By "new DF version" do you mean .16?  Because that sounds exactly like what happens in .13 and .14 worlds.

I gen'd a world in .14, am now running .16.. and still not a single goblin or Elf (im at war with the elves)  Is the world screwed and I should start over?

Worlds gen'd in .14 or .13 do not have invasions.  Regardless of which version you're using to play it.
