I thought this was lol and accurate. Any other entertaining descriptions of dwarf fortress?

 Ah. So that's what the profile pic is all about... Someone had the second last picture as his profile picture. Never understood it till it's blown up to this size.

While adding magma to anything will make it dwarfy, adding the word "magma" to your post does not necessarily make it funny.

yeah there are two of us (that i know of) who reference the same part of this comic in our profile pictures.  I am thinking of changing mine to a different segment.

This is a useful feature..and this is DF.. so im gonna assume its bugged
That's what cages and minecart shotguns are for!  We don't need to control them.  We just need to aim them.

i was thinking the "bursting forth from bringers-of-Fun in a bloody, gory, joyous mess" part.  Because honestly, I think that is everyone's favorite point in learning this game (when we finally succeeded against an "impossible" challenge.)  Because of this, we constantly try to relive it by building mega projects, and putting "impossible" tasks before ourselves (farming a creature which lives in inaccessible terrain:  the mermaid.)

You should look up the artist's rendition of the epic tale of Bronzemurder. It's like a slice-of-life depiction of the typical Dwarf Fortress.
