Floor Grate help

I read fluids can pass through grates, but... can i use the heat using a "grated" warm tile for a magma furnace/forge?

You cannot build on constructions, so I don't think so.

If you build the forges right, the magma will be innaccessible anyway, so theres no need to do that.

What Gearheart means by 'building it right' is that you should place one of the impassible (dark green) tiles of the workshop over the hole, thus blocking access.

Just try it! Its not like you die IRL if Urist McMiner falls into magma.
