The Emperor's New Clothes?
« on: September 29, 2010, 06:03:34 pm »

So. Due to the current worldgens for the Genesis Mod crashing after year 50 or so, I've been exploring the brave undeveloped world of Year 5. As a Kobold. Unfortunately, there's not much to steal in year 5. In fact, I've only found one piece of goods that wasn't ON someone. (and most people don't even have clothes yet!)

The exception to this rule is the Emperors and Shoguns and whatnot. Civ leaders that are designated masks and other badges of office always have them. Even if you just stole their clothes right off their backs (while stealthed), walked just far enough to have them hidden by the rolling blackout and then came back, the Leaders or his lackeys will always have their special status accessories.

bug? exploit? I know the game doesn't keep track of individuals' posessions quite to that extent, but it gets a little silly when in one day my kobold thief can steal 12 steel masks from the same Emperor.

You know, every emperor has a quantum stockpile full of steel masks under his bed.

It's the same with trophies you get from enemies you killed, which you respawn with after you retire. Repeatedly retiring and returning to adventuring will generate an infinite number of these.

Perhaps instead of a bed, they each have a pile of steel masks?

They have quantum robes/togas/etc.
EDIT:Perhaps it's the placebo effect. He BELIEVES he is still wearing the mask, so he is.

Yes. And for the record, other than the mask he and all his subjects are naked.
