For BG1, there's the TuTu that basically replaces the engine and graphics with those of the superior BG2.

There's also a widescreen mod to up the resolution to modern standards.

I was hoping for something else, so I guess I'll just ask:

are there any interesting community-made Add-ons/Total Convesrions on the Infinity engine? (BG/IWD/PST)

I tried to play chess but two of my opponents were playing competitive checkers as a third person walked in with Game of Thrones in hand confused cause they thought this was the book club.

I think they're all for BG2.

Many of the gibberlings3 mods are worthwhile too.

Then there's the whole semi-official mod by David Gaider

For the hardcore players of BG2, there are Tactics and Improved Anvil (IA). Both of them increase the difficulty greatly, but in different ways. In Unmodded BG2, there were lots of exploits and cheap tricks that one could do, which made the regular enemies very easy. Both mods beef u the monsters. Tactics lets them use the cheesy tactics that the player can use, whereas IA prevents both the player and the AI using cheats and glitches.

For people who are not that hardcore, but want something more challenging than the regular games, there is sword coast stratagems (SCS) for BG1, and SCSII for BG2. SCS works on the basis of not changing the monsters but giving them smarter AI, where tactics and IA give them smarter AI and beef them up. SCS also makes some changes to the game which are controversial (e.g. in vanilla if a mage has certain combination of protection spells up, the player needs one or two specific spells to get rid of the protections. SCS makes protections a lot easier to get around).

I would also reccomend getting the one pixel productions mods for the BG2 graphics, so things like flaming swords are actually flaming swords instead of glowing swords.
