Through modding, I wound up with a squad full of Orichalcum-clad, Elysian Steel Bastard Sword wielding death machines.
I have to ask, is Orichalcum half way between blue-metal and steel, or is it like blue-metal, but better at mashing things instead of cutting?

Zepave Dawnhogs the Butterfly of Vales the Marsh Titan ... was taken out by a single novice axedwarf and his pet war kitten. Long Live Domas Etasastesh Adilloram, slayer of the snow butterfly!
Doesn't quite have the ring of heroics to it...
Mother: "...and after the evil snow butterfly was defeated, Domas and his kitten lived happily ever after!"
Kids: "Yaaaay!"

Orichalcum is closer to bluemetal than steel, and is heavier than both. It is an alloy of Wolfram, Hepatizon, and Gold.

If you want the full specs, it's posted over in the Modder's Workshop thread, here: http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=53740.msg1611760;boardseen#new

The Golden Axes, The Silver Hammers and The Bronze Spears (not the actual squad's names, unfortunately).

We REALLY need to be able to name our own squads.

While adding magma to anything will make it dwarfy, adding the word "magma" to your post does not necessarily make it funny.

You mean "The Running Cowards" isn't a suitable name?

Though it may take a little bit more time than a uniform weapon squad I like to outfit dwarves with the weapon they are best at, or if they have no previous weapon skills at all what the squad needs in order to keep a good balance between sharp and blunt weapons. In this way I usually get squads ready to handle most any situation. In my current millitary I have 3 axe dwarves 3 hammerers ( 2 of which have silver mauls captured from humans ) 2 spear dwarves 2 sword dwarves a lasher a longsword dwarf 4 mace dwarves (go figure) 2 wrestlers and a lone Knife dwarf.

on a related note one of the peasants in my first migration wave was a competent wrestler, I names him Norris (after chuck of course)
in the hopes that he would kick as much ass as his namesake, he has survived all seven battles that he has participated in losing an eye and a few toes but doesn't have a single kill to his name, I  made him captain of B squad in hopes that one day he will redeem his uselessness and maybe kill a titan or something.
