Wells built over ramps
« on: December 08, 2007, 10:46:00 am »

I dug a tunnel underneath the main fortress to the water source and then built a well over the ramp I used to get my miner down there.  When dwarves tried to use it, they gave a "dangerous terrain" message, failed to drink, and tracked mud throughout the entire fort.

So they are standing on regular ground next to the well?  Is there any water?

code:

Well level:
++++++|++~~~
+o++++|++~~~
++++++|++~~~

One z-level under:
O=======O~~~
|R~~~~~~~~~~ R=ramp, water at depth of 7
O=======O~~~

The well also flashes between the ramp tile and the well.  I don't know what the Dwarves were doing, as I'd go off to check on other things, get the cancellation message, go to the well, only to see the one who attempted walking away to do something else.

Do you still have a save for this?  I doubt it's going to reproduce for me with them just standing on the floor, since the dangerous terrain message shouldn't care about a ramp so far away.
